A Little Bit of Everything

Here's a picture a customer sent me yesterday. This is a Momma after my heart! She purchased the shirt for her son from Kelly's Kids and then I monogrammed this dress for her daughter. I just so happen to have a 3x3 piece of this turquoise/brown plaid. The mommy is going to make a covered button for a bow. Isn't this such a cute combo? She is going to do another combo in red and turquoise. I'll be sure to post a pic of the next combo when it's complete.

So I try my best to get things as cheap as possible. This means I spent lots of time scouring the internet. I wanted to share these bows that I've found on Etsy. They are only $5 a piece plus $2.50 flat shipping. I ordered Kathryn the Snow White Bow, the Cinderella bow, and the Ariel bow. On the Ariel bow I changed the colors to solid red. I like the colors shown but it doesn't go with the dress I am wanting to make for Kathryn.

How stinkin cute will this applique be with the Cinderella bow above? I bought this applique at froufroubyheathersue.com. They have a special during the month of September that if you spend more than $6 use coupon code 2oPERCENTSEPT11 for 20% off. I spoke to Heather and she will be taking custom request next week, if anyone has something certain that they can't find. I bought these 2 appliques below (plus the Belle applique in the previous post). These are great for your little princess. I am planning to make this and pair it with this princess book (and the bow) for Kathryn's third birthday.

I love making clothes for Kathryn and Thomas. The problem is I can't stop myself. Everything I see I think they need. The worst thing is since they are getting bigger they can tell me what they like and then I really have to make it for them. I bought some flannel Curious George fabric for pj pants and it was delivered while Thomas was at my house. He told me he really liked it : ) I have been so busy lately I had decided not to do them till I remembered last night how he told me how much he liked "George". Being the sucker that I am, at 11 last night I decided these just had to be made for my sweet boy. That's when you know you have a sewing problem ; )

Here is a pic of most of the stuff I have made for Thomas for the Fall/Winter. There are two additional shirts that are already at his house. I didn't realize how much I'd made him till I laid it all out.

Thomas' pants. I still have to make him one more pair and I have to applique his Jon Jon (that I bought!) for Christmas.

Here is an outfit I made for Kathryn recently. I'm a little worried she may not wear the crown tee but I love it and I hope the two pockets on the pants entice her! I want to order these bows to go with the sock monkey tee but am not sure I can justify that much money for bows once shipping is included.

Here are a few new blanks I have gotten. I have the red long-sleeve ruffle shirts in sizes 2 years and 6 years. The nude long-sleeve boys crew-neck shirts are a size 6.

Here are some recent customer orders. The apple with the worm is a brand new applique of mine and I just love it! I have some more orders but I'm running out of time so I'll save them for the next post.

Can anyone believe I made a Jon Jon? I even put in a snap crotch! I did it for a Mommy that was in a pinch needing one and had been unable to find one in stores that wasn't too expensive.

I came across this picture recently and it made me smile. This was the very first thing I ever appliqued. I knew it wasn't perfect but I thought it looked really good! The monogram is good but that's about it!

I saw this picture on carrottopclothes.com and thought I'd share (by the way, I've ordered from them before so you can feel confident in purchasing from them). It's a really cute alternative to monogramming and appliqueing.
