A New Favorite

So I'm playing favorites this week. I have fallen in love with this candy apple applique from Applique cafe. It is great for Fall with brown leggings, seen below, or with baby skinny jeans and boots.

How doesn't love Belle? I got this one from Heather Sue, she is so nice and if you sign up for her newsletter you will get discount codes. Her site has so many quite princess appliques. I am planning on making a dress with Snow White appliqued on it, a dress with Ariel and a dress with Tinkerbell (using an applique from Applicakes on Etsy).

I love my camera but it's resolution is so high (which makes for great pictures) that it picks up every-little-thing! The "brown spot" you see below the earring is brown thread from where it made loop while stitching the hair. I didn't even see it till I uploaded this pic - crazy!

Cute turkey shirts! These turkeys are quite time consuming but so worth it! I love how they turned out and can't wait to get started on my next set. The boy turkey below is holding a flag with an orange T for UT and the next set I'm doing, for a set of brothers, is going to have AU stacked on the flag.

My phototgraphy studio ; )

I love these turkeys too! I can't take credit for the colors, the Mommy picked them out. I think they look great together!

I really needed more appliques, right?

Total random but did anyone else, besides my mom and I, drool over the mutli-colored embroidered napkins shown in Southern Living's August 2011 issue? The napkins shown in the mag cost $360 for TWELVE napkins! I have found someone that is digitizing it and will soon be offering it for sale! I personally spoke to the lady and she said it has been incredibly time consuming because she has had to hand draw each letter then digitize it. I have no idea what that entails but it's lots of work! I will let you know when it's available. Can we all guess what my mom is getting for Christmas!!

All of the appliques below, with the exception of the tree with the tire swing, are from Planetapplique.com. The tire swing applique is from appliquecafe.com.

I have done this applique before with the little boys name in the tree "leaves" in red thread. It was adorable! Plus, you know I have to throw this in ; ), Ragsland is selling this EXACT applique for both boys and girls. They added two red embroidered apples. Click here to see it. Since seeing this applique I have wanted to sew small red apple buttons on it.

This is an example of how the 'Treat Bag' applique can be used. I don't have this exact block applique font but I have similar ones. I want to applique this on a bag for Kathryn for Halloween.

My new fav boy applique! I will be doing this applique very soon. I can't wait to share! I think this one is great for older boys if you leave off the name and just do the initial in the middle.

Lots of new stuff to post tomorrow!! Good night!

Applique Forum and More New Applique

Did anyone out there know that you could buy previous seasons fabric from the outlet section on Ragsland's website? I have been trying to find the Vive la Fete dress below for Kathryn. I was able to buy 2 yards of this apple print for $18 including tax and shipping. "Ma" (what Kathryn calls my mom) is going to have to get to work smocking!

Or maybe this color apples? I saw this on Bestdressedchild.com.

As I was looking around Ragsland I came across this outfit. I have this applique. I wanted to put it on a shirt for my nephew in baby blue and brown or red and brown. I've already made him enough and, as I've said before, I never will have time to make all the things I want to for "my babies"!

Here's a back-to-school outfit I made Thomas.

Another outfit for Miss Kathryn. This is the same sweater that I had paired with the schoolhouse dress outfit in the previous post. I really want Kathryn to have some red puddle jumpers for this outfit. Anyone have a size 11 they'd like to sell??

Kathryn loves her pockets.

A baby gift. I just received these sweet crochet appliques in the mail yesterday. I had planned on putting the baby's name under the bunny instead of a patch but the parents have yet to decide on a name and the gift was needed for the baby shower. You can purchase a baby gown that has a crochet applique and name under it for $18. If you'd rather have the crochet applique on a patch like below it is the gown would be $20. I have this applique in the pink version along with several others shown 2 posts down.

The crochet applique is hand-sewn on top of the patch.

This dress look familiar? It has been quite popular. I'm so glad everyone is liking it so much! This dress is for a little girl who is going to be a big sister next month. I am going to do a matching Curlz monogram on a green apple onesie and put the ruffle ric rac in rows on the bum. These parent aren't telling anyone the baby's name till after she is born so I will complete it after she is born and then post a pic. Maybe even one with her wearing it?

Here's an outfit "Ma" got for Kathryn off Ebay. It wasn't a "Mommy Price" but I had been wanting my mom to make this exact outfit since I'd seen it on Orient Expressed's website and it was $80. I guess my mom was happy to pay $33 rather than smock it herself ; )

More Ebay. I haven't received these yet but I paid $19.50 for the Castles and Crowns bishop on the left and $14.50 for the Kelly's Kids. Does anyone know what this collection is called? I am wanting to google it and get a made-to-match bow. The C & C dress is for next year so I won't only be dressing Kathryn in bubblegum machine dresses!

I joined a site named Appliqueforum.com a few days ago. I had read about it on several reputable blogs and applique sites. It costs $5 for a trial one month membership so I wasn't sure if I wanted to but now I am SO glad I did! They have few appliques every couple of weeks and the sponsors offer discount codes and they have posts on appliqueing techniques and various other things of that sort. Not sure if I will stay with it long because I don't want to have to pay but I plan to get as much out of it this month as possible.

Here is an applique I got on that site. My friend had been wanting it for her little girl for PDO.

Love this embroidery! I can't even remember now where I got it but it was free!! I think it was G G embroidery.

This is a small embroidered pumpkin not an applique. I want to start making Kathryn bows and this would be precious appliqued on one of the "tails" of the bow. It would also be cute appliqued on the chest of a polo.

Who knew a ghost could be cute??

I do not have this particular applique but wanted to show it as an example of what could be done using the ghost applique above. Adding it to a circle patch is a great option on a white shirt (or anything else) as a way to add more color and pattern.

This candy corn applique is done in a zig zag stitch (this one does not have a satin stitch option).

This is a sweet jack 0'lantern for little girls. This applique would be much cuter in different fabrics and on a lighter background. The wrong fabrics really do appliques an injustice!

How cute is this caramel apple? I am going to have to put this on a shirt for Kathryn.

I found almost the exact same applique on a Kelly's Kids reversible dress for Fall. FYI for all you appliquers the lollipop applique (which I do have) on the dress below is from Embroidery Boutique. They just arranged them in that pattern vs EB's is just a single lollipop. Ragsland has a similar applique done in pastels. Their applique is from Applique Momma, if you are interested. I am all over the web so if you are looking for something in particular let me know and I can try to point you in the right direction.

This is perfect for my Mickey OBSESSED Kathryn! Yesterday she wore her Minnie Mouse costume on a trip to Hobby Lobby (and Chick-fil-A : )!

Monograms, Appliques, and my sweet helper

As I was monogramming the dress you will see below, my sweet little baby said you wanted to help Mommy. This is her saying "chee" for the camera : )

She was actually touching the embroidery hoop with her chin!

Don't you love the dress Kathryn is wearing in the picture above? I got it off Ebay. It is actually for next year but I'm going to have to put in new, longer elastic to make it work. Kathryn loved the "bow tie" in the back!

I just finished this outfit this morning. The dress is perfect for Kathryn's first day back to school. It is my new favorite but I say that a lot!

I love doing something like changing the buttons on plain white sweaters to make them look like they were meant for that outfit. Last year I removed all of the buttons on a sweater and put a strip of green gingham fabric, about 3/4 inches wide, down and reattached the buttons over it.

Love this apple truck but for the time being it is not for sale. This applique has given me issues and I need some time to sit down with it and work through our issues ; )

Blue and pink minky dot doggies for Kathryn and Thomas.

My best friend's little girls new dress. This dress is very popular, luckily I just placed an order for lots of the sherbet ric rac.

Kathryn posing for Mommy to take a pic of her wearing her dress that matches Libby's. We went to the park after this and she wore it in 90 degree temps!

Another good friends little girl's dress. This dress was already made, I just did the monogram. Isn't the yellow cute?

This 'L' is done in the Fabric Finders brown/pink/white tri-check. I am completely obsessed with it! It is also comes in a blue version, which is perfect for brother/sister outfits.

I made this swimsuit about 2 months ago. I got the pattern off Sew Beautiful Magazine's website. If you sew I recommend you purchasing this pattern. It is so sweet and we have gotten SO many compliments. I will never be able to sell these swimsuits though because no one could afford them - I'd have to charge at least $80 ; )

Thank you so much to everyone who has been ordering things from me!
